Frequently Asked Questions

The WASS-PhD-Council likes to inform you via the WASS website and by direct contact with the WASS PhD candidates to exchange information about common problems that PhDs within WASS face. In that way we are aware of general problems the PhDs encounter and we try to find solutions for it. Issues like financing of courses, course material, the type of courses requested by PhD-students, etc., are also discussed. Conclusions, suggestions and opinions from the PhDs are summarized and communicated to and discussed with the relevant boards and committees.
  1. What to do as a new PhD in WASS?

Welcome! We have made an information package for you, with all kind of information such as TSP, housing, contact information. Click here for the information package.

    2. I am interested to join the WASS PhD Council, is that possible?

Sure! If you want to gain experience, meet new people and have a great time:
we are always looking for extra help. We really need extra people who likes to organise and want to act as
the voice of a WASS PhD! Or do you just want to
organise more parties, professional excursions, sport teams,
PhD days and have a nice website, newsletters, etc. So if you are interested to help us, or have any other
nice ideas that we can carry out, please let us know : Phdcouncil.wass@wur.nl!

    3. I want to discuss some issues, how can I reach the PhD Council?

If you encounter problems during your PhD program, don’t hesitate to contact us. We cannot solve
all problems by ourselves, but we may be able to help you to find the right person! Send us an e-mail if you
        have something on your mind:
Phdcouncil.wass@wur.nl or contact one of the PhD Council members.
